Ron Howard visited Machu Picchu (Peru)

With the intention to have a short vacation and to learn more about our culture, the former actor and film director Ron Howard arrived in Peru and visited Machu Picchu citadel, which has been recently nominated as one of the new wonders of the world.
The popular "Richie Cunningham" (his character in "Happy Days" TV series) took the train from the station of Ollantaytambo, but he went completely unnoticed there, like any other tourist.
However, after a while he was recognized by some of the passengers, who asked him to pose for some photographs.
The director of "Apollo" did not refuse, and agreed to share some moments with his fans.
Once they arrived in Machu Picchu, he started the tour with the help of a guide, and was seen recording and taking notes carefully of all the explanations.
Peru region to develop mystic tourism

Peruvian region of Ucayali will boost mystic tourism in order to attract more domestic and foreign visitors, especially tourists from Europe.
Regional tourism authorities are currently launching a project to start next July.
Local tourism official Freddy Rios Flores said they are waiting for the first financial support (29,000 soles) from the regional government.
He said that “we have registered over 50 shamans who practice folk medicine, in the indigenous and mixed race specialty.”
Local authorities recognize Santa Clara, Nueva Betania and Rao Netes, located in the community of San Francisco (Pucallpa), as three places where shamanic activity is highly developed.

Cusco to Machu Picchu carries passengers on a spectacular journey through the high Andes. There are three levels of service, from backpacker trains to Vistadome cars to the luxurious blue and gold Hiram Bingham train, named in honor of Hiram Bingham, the explorer who discovered the Inca citadel in 1911. Peru tourist attractions promoted in Canada

Under the slogan “"Exploring the most captivating places of Peru," the most conspicuous tourists attractions are being promoted on the most important Canadian newspapers, such as the National Post.
Canada, a country with 37.2 million people and a per capita average annual income of $ 42,524 in 2008, is one of the key targets to promote Peru as a tourism destination.
In 2009, Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) plans to promote tourism to Peru in Canada with more than 100 activities throughout the year.
Canadian tourist arrivals increased by 22.7% from 40,983 to 50, 306 tourists in 2008 compared to last year; in addition, the average spending of a Canadian in Peru also rose by 6.5% from $1,532 to $1,632 over the last year.
Peruvian gourmet food to be promoted in US fair

Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) will promote the country's gourmet food exportable offer at the International Fair Summer Fancy Food Show, to be held from June 28th to 30th in New York (United States).
In this event, PromPeru will participate along with 13 national agro-export companies, which have long prepared for this fair.
Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) which have authorized PromPeru to attend this event, explained that Peru's participation is highly important since the Fancy Food Show is one of the most important fairs specialized in gourmet food.
The fair gathers restaurants, supermarkets and big stores chains, representing a great business opportunity for the participating Peruvian companies.
The New 7 Wonders of the World
In 2007, the entire world voted on what are now the New 7 Wonders of the World. The campaign was met with such success, some 100 million votes, that the New 7 Wonders Foundation has begun its second campaign to decide the New 7 Wonders of Nature, to be decided at the end of 2008. An impressive 3 of the New 7 Wonders of the World are found in Latin America and have become some of the most visited attractions in all of the Americas.

Located high in the mountains of the Urubamba Valley, Machu Picchu is the most well-known symbol of the Incan Empire. Relatively young compared to other indigenous civilizations, the sanctuary was built as late as 1450 and remained inhabited for less than a century. Today, the ruins are a well-preserved collection of temples, parks, and residences.
Christ Redeemer, Brazil
Standing 130 feet (39.6 meters) tall, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located in Río de Janeiro on the peak of the Corcovado Mountain. Construction of the religious monument began in 1926 and lasted five years. Since the statue’s completion in 1931, it has inspired various similar statues around the world. Today the impressive Christ the Redeemer attracts visitors from all ends.
